Carbon Reduction Policy

Carbon Reduction Policy

Key Engineering & Hygiene Supplies Ltd is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

At Key we are aware that if we reduce the emission of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emission, Key will benefit as well as our customers, suppliers, and the wider community.

Carbon reduction can be achieved through various means and in various sectors including energy production, transportation industry, agriculture and more.

The aspects below are essential for mitigating the impacts of climate change and transitioning to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.

  1. Transition to renewable energy

One of the most significant contributors to carbon emissions is the burning of fossil fuels for electricity and heat production. Carbon reduction efforts often involve transitioning to renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, and geothermal power. Key are currently investigating installing solar power via the smart flower system.

  1. Energy Efficiency

Key are continuously improving the energy efficiency in our building, and our appliances which significantly reduces carbon emissions. Key use energy-efficient technologies, better insulation, and adopting sustainable building practices.

  1. Transportation

Key are looking at moving towards electric vehicles and we encourage carpooling amongst our staff.

  1. Reforestation and Afforestation

As trees absorb CO2 from the atmosphere Key play an active part in restoring forests and planting new trees which are important strategies for carbon reduction.

  1. Waste Reduction and Recycling

Key implement waste reduction and recycling where possible to minimise the carbon footprint associated with waste disposal and production. We work with a few our supplier to reduce plastic waste.

  1. Behavioural Changes

Key encourage staff to adopt eco-friendly behaviours, such as reducing energy consumption, conserving water, and minimising waste, can contribute to carbon reduction.

Key management hold quarterly meeting to monitor its carbon emission and discussions are held to establish future action. Conversation with our suppliers is ongoing to discuss how we can achieve carbon reductions goals with the continuation of recycling and how they manufacturer the products we purchase.

Management is keen to acknowledge relevant laws, regulations or industry standards related to carbon reduction.

Our Carbon Reduction Policy will be reviewed every quarter and updated to reflect any changes.
